As a wildlife artist based in the Northern Rivers of NSW, I find endless inspiration in the vibrant creatures around me, especially the Azure Kingfisher. With its royal blue and orange plumage, this dazzling bird thrives near waterways, gracefully diving for fish and insects. A memorable encounter deepened my passion for capturing their brilliance: rescuing a dazed kingfisher, I marveled at its vivid colors as it recovered. My first attempt at bird painting was inspired by this close connection, and I now strive to share the delicate charm of these stunning creatures through my art.

Fleays Barred Frog
In 2018 I had the pleasure of painting Fleay’s Barred Frog, an endangered species native to Northern NSW. This remarkable creature, with its striking patterns and vital role in the ecosystem, was a joy to bring to life on canvas. When our art class was invited by the local council to contribute to a booklet on endangered species, I eagerly participated. I’m thrilled and honored that my painting was chosen for publication, helping to raise awareness of the importance of protecting these unique and vulnerable animals through art.

The Bald Eagle
As a wildlife artist, I find endless inspiration in creatures’ natural habitats, none more so than the majestic Bald Eagle. This iconic bird, the national emblem of the United States since 1782, embodies power and grace with its sharp talons and hooked beak, making it a skilled hunter. My passion for wildlife art deepened after seeing a wild Bald Eagle in Montana in 2007, perched on a branch and scanning a glacier-fed stream for fish. The memory of that awe-inspiring moment drove me to try and capture the essence of these magnificent animals, sharing their beauty and strength through my art.

The Grey Wolf
I am deeply drawn to wolves, particularly the Grey Wolf, or Timber Wolf, native to the wilds of Eurasia and North America. A transformative camping and horseback adventure in Montana in 2007, where I heard their haunting howls, left an indelible mark on me. As top predators, wolves embody strength, intelligence, and unity, thriving in packs to hunt prey from deer to rodents. My passion for wildlife art stems from a lifelong love of animals and the joy of capturing their essence, from bugs to buffalo. Zebra

In 2026, a friend of a friend gave me a few fish from her cleaned-out pond, including one she named "Elvis." Initially black, Elvis changed to a golden hue over the years and grew to a mighty size.
