As the artist-in-residence at Murwillumbah's Main St Art Gallery, I specialize in realistic depictions of creatures, big and small. This being my first commission, I was trying to focus on capturing every detail of the publican's daughter's beloved cat. Despite the nerves, I channelled my dedication and care into creating a portrait that honors the pet's unique personality. My journey from hobbyist to professional painter is fueled by my love of nature and the joy of connecting people with my art. Hannah the cat's owner was thrilled with this suprise birthday gift from her dad.

For my second commission, I faced the challenge of capturing Patrick's cherished whippet, Levi, nestled on his favorite chair. While bringing Levi’s gentle personality to life was rewarding, the intricate chair pattern proved even more demanding. Balancing the details to convey Levi's comfortable pose and the chair’s unique design tested my skills, but I embraced the challenge with dedication. I am proud to say Patrick was well pleased with the result.

This special commission was a surprise birthday gift from a man to his friend, featuring her cherished horse. The painting required precision to replicate the horse’s distinctive markings, ensuring it was unmistakably hers. The heartfelt moment, captured after a grueling dressage round, showcases her embracing the horse in triumph and gratitude. My dedication to detail paid off, as the recipient was thrilled with the result.

This commission for my son’s friend was inspired by his love for wedge-tailed eagles and his hometown of Murwillumbah, NSW. Combining two photos, I crafted a unique composition featuring his favorite bird soaring majestically over the iconic local mountain. The challenge of merging these elements into a cohesive and striking scene was met with creativity and care. The final painting exceeded expectations, leaving Matt my client more than pleased.
